JinkoSolar said it will supply 86 MW of modules to Colombia's largest photovoltaic power plant
.
The El Paso Solar Park is being built
by Alitalia in the northern province of Cesar.
JinkoSolar will provide modules for Colombia's largest solar project
The El Paso Solar Park is currently under construction and is expected to begin commercial operations
by the end of 2018.
Alberto Cuter, General Manager of JinkoSolar Latin America, said: "Colombia actually relies mainly on hydropower, which can become a problem
during the dry season.
Solar energy would be a good solution
for integrating the national energy matrix.
We look forward to the rapid growth of the Colombian PV market and will continue to work closely with local developers to build sustainable partnerships so that both parties can maximize their return on investment
through the superior performance of JinkoSolar products.
" ”
The solar park project received environmental approval
from Colombian authorities in September 2017.
Once completed, the project will be the largest solar system
in the country.
Colombia has another PV project of similar size, the 80 MW PV plant in Los Santos, in the northern province of Santander, developed by Colombia's renewable energy company Celsia
