On July 25, Japan's first large-scale power generation demonstration business began
off the coast of Kugajima Island, Goto City.
On the same day, the Ministry of the Environment adopted
    it as a consignment business.
The Nagasaki Marine Industry Cluster has formed a promotion council, an NPO corporation mainly established by companies in the prefecture, and a power generation facility with a maximum power generation capacity of 2 MW will be installed on the seabed
    of Narurase House.
It is expected to start operation in 2018-2019 and reach practical use
    .

In July 2014, Japan selected three sea areas, including the coast of Kuga Island, as "experimental areas"
for demonstration experiments on marine energy power generation.
The coast of Kuga Island will be the first coast
to be selected as an "experimental field" for tidal power generation.
The demonstration is expected to provide power generation for 1,400 homes
    .
From 2016 to 2019, the amount of consignment is expected to reach about
    3.
    6 billion yen.

The Japanese subsidiary Open Hydro Technology Japan (Tokyo), which is implemented by KUDEN Miyakura Energy (Fukuoka City), Nippon Steel Sumitomo Engineering (Tokyo),
    and Open Fluids (Ireland).
Nagasaki University and Kyushu University serve as guidance advisors
    .

In France and Canada, generators will be designed and installed
based on an open fluid that will be used as a demonstration starting this year.
At the time of the current flow, including the rotating body and the foundation structure, the total height was 27 meters and weighed about 1,200 tons
    .
It will also work on environmental impact assessments and the laying
of submarine cables for power transmission.

The chairman of the association, Toshiyuki Sakai, said, "I want to cultivate the basic industry
of the prefecture in the field of marine energy.
" In addition to the actual business, the related business also hopes to obtain orders locally as much as possible and build a business model
    .

Compared with photovoltaic power generation and wind power generation, current power generation uses the fluctuation of the current flow, which is difficult to be influenced by the climate, and is expected to generate stable electricity
    .
At present, Japan is still in the research and development stage, but this project has moved from a demonstration experiment to a commercial stage
    in Europe.
