On February 18, Iranian IAEA Chairman Salehi announced that Japan would build a small nuclear power project
with Iran.
During the talks, Salehi called for promoting cooperation between the two countries in the field of science and technology, saying that Iran wants to cooperate
with Japan on nuclear energy safety, the construction of a 100MW nuclear power plant and technologies for the peaceful use of nuclear energy.
In October 2015, Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Javad Zarif met with Japanese Foreign Minister Fumio Kishida in Tehran, and the two countries resolved to expand cooperation in various fields, especially in the field of nuclear power technology
