JA Solar (NASDAQ: JASO), one of the world's largest manufacturers of high-performance solar products, announced the supply of 11MW of high-efficiency PV modules to Egypt's Red Sea PV Power Station Project, funded by the Abu Dhabi Government and developed by Masdar in the Red Sea region, which is currently the largest PV-diesel hybrid power generation project
in North Africa.
The project consists of four power stations, Marsa Alam, Shalateen, Abu Ramad and Halayeb, with a total capacity of 14MW, and aims to power tourism in the Red Sea region
.
The combination of existing diesel power plants and photovoltaic power plants can significantly save costs for purchasing and transporting diesel and significantly reduce CO2 emissions
.
According to statistics, after the completion of the project, the annual output of electricity can cover 25,800 households, and the average annual carbon dioxide emission reduction is 42,700 tons
.
