The La Silla PV plant will feature advanced PV panels, including innovative smart bifacial PV modules

This bifacial PV module obtains solar energy from both sides of the PV panel, and only one side of the traditional PV panel can absorb solar energy

The use of innovative photovoltaic panels is expected to increase solar power generation by 5% and 10%.
La Silla will be the world's first utility-scale PV plant
to use smart bifacial modules in combination with traditional modules for side-by-side testing.
