Sumitomo Chemical Corporation
recently announced that it plans to start local production of thermoplastic polyolefins (TPOs) in China and Europe this year, thus forming a global TPO production network
in four locations in Japan, China, Europe and the United States.
In China, Sumitomo Chemical plans to install a 5,000-tonne TPO production line at its Dalian polypropylene compound site, which is scheduled to start production
in May.
In Europe, Sumitomo Chemical will retrofit its existing facility at a polypropylene compound site in the UK, which will generate an annual production capacity of several thousand tons, which is expected to come on stream
by the end of 2019.
