Arkema's $160 million sale of activated carbon and filter aids announced
that it has agreed to sell its wood-based activated carbon and filter aid business to Calgoncarbon
.
The total value of the transaction is approximately €145.
5 million (US$160 million), including €137.
7 million in cash
.
The transaction is expected to close
in the fourth quarter of 2016.
Calgon Carbon said the deal will add wood-activated carbon to the original coal-based activated carbon while expanding production capacity
in the company's strategic focus areas.
