Air Liquide accelerates the development of biogas purification business
Air Liquide announces the commissioning of 12 biogas purification plants in Europe over the past 12 months
.
Air Liquide's 12 new biogas purification plants are located in France, the United Kingdom, Hungary and Denmark
.
Air Liquide operates five of these plants with a total investment of 12 million euros and has signed a long-term contract for the production of biomethane for the European gas pipeline network, which supplies fuel
for a transport fleet fueled by bio-natural gas (motor gas).
With the commissioning of these plants, Air Liquide's biogas purification capacity in Europe has been tripled
.
To date, Air Liquide has designed and deployed 50 biogas purification plants worldwide to convert biogas into biomethane and inject it into
the natural gas network.
François Darchis, Senior Vice President for Innovation and member of the Executive Committee of Air Liquide, said: "The new biomethane production contract demonstrates Air Liquide's ability to
use its technology to create new markets.
Air Liquide responds to energy and environmental challenges
by being based on the entire value chain, from biogas purification to distribution to bio-natural gas stations.
