Sumitomo Rubber invested USD 129 million to expand its plant

Sumitomo Rubber recently announced the expansion of the production capacity of Tona Wanda Tire Plant in New York State, with an estimated investment of USD 129 million to modernize the
plant's production facilities.
The scope of upgrades includes tire presses, rubber compounders, and intelligent tire assembly machines

The expansion also calls for a new tire shop, which is expected to be completed this summer

Sumitomo Rubber said that the expansion project will be carried out
at the same time as the plant's production.
At present, the Tona Wanda Tire Factory can produce passenger car tires, motorcycle tires and truck and bus tires, with a capacity of 12,000 tires per day; After the expansion, the production capacity was increased to 18,000 tires
per day.
Among them, passenger car tires are mainly Falken brand, and motorcycle tires are mainly
Dunlop brand.
