    Saudi Aramco and Total recently signed a memorandum of understanding to build a $5 billion giant petrochemical complex
    in Jubail
    , Saudi Arabia.
    The investment will include a mixed feedstock steam cracking plant with an annual capacity of 1.
    5 million tonnes of ethylene and related high value-added petrochemicals
    .
    The cracking plant will provide feedstock
    for other petrochemical and specialty chemical plants.

    Patrick Pouyanné, chairman and CEO of Total, said the project will utilize low-cost feedstocks to supply "the rapidly growing Asian polymer market.
