Clariant opens new activated clay production site in Indonesia On April 5, Clariant announced the official opening
of a new activated clay production site
for its Functional Minerals business unit.
Located in Gresik, near Surabaya, Indonesia, the site will increase regional activated clay production capacity by 35 percent, expanding Clariant's existing capacity while expanding its presence
in the emerging market of Asia Pacific.

Christian Kohlpaintner, Member of Clariant's Executive Board, said: "We firmly believe that Clariant's future will depend on Asia, and this investment will further strengthen our position
in the region.
The new site at Gracie will become an important regional manufacturing hub, and we will not only be able to better serve emerging markets in the Asia-Pacific region, but will also benefit from their excellent growth prospects
.
In
addition to the Indonesian plant, the Mexico plant started operations in April 2016, and the Turkey plant will start operations
in April 2017.
