Clariant, through its Medical Packaging business unit,
announced a partnership with PumpArt System to introduce innovative Tubairless dispensing technology
to the pharmaceutical industry.
The product was presented
at Pharma Europe on February 14.
Tubairless is a dispensing system that combines a flexible plastic bag and air chamber enclosed in a flexible hose to help protect sensitive paste formulations from the negative effects
of outside air.
Many medicinal creams, ointments, gels, and ointments are susceptible to moisture or drying, or to other types of contamination
.
The in-tube pump prevents air ingress and product backflow during dispensing, reducing the possibility of
elements entering the paste that could contaminate the paste.
In addition, the protection can be further enhanced by integrating multiple barrier or active layers into the packaging
.
Thanks to the more precise dosage control, the ointment is not oversqueezed or ejected
.
In addition, Tubairless can also achieve the goal of completely extruding the product (at least 95%), and the economic advantages are very obvious
.
The piston pump system has up to 20 components, while the hose system is relatively simple to consist, requiring only three components, which is more
cost-effective.
From a sustainability point of view, Tubairless uses 25%~50%
less plastic than traditional airless pumps.
