    On March 23, LG Energy Solution said it plans to invest 1.
    7 trillion won (about $1.
    4 billion) by 2024 to build a battery factory in Arizona, USA, to meet the needs of "well-known start-ups" and other North American customers

    LG Energy Solution says it will be its first plant in the U.

    to produce columnar batteries, which are already used in Tesla and Lucid cars

    Construction work will begin in the second quarter of 2022 and large-scale production will begin in 2024 with a capacity of 11 GWh

    On the same day, LG New Energy, Strantis and the Canadian government held an investment conference in Windsor, Ontario, Canada, and announced plans
    to build a lithium battery joint venture factory in Canada.
    The joint venture plant will be located in Windsor, Ontario, Canada, with a total investment of KRW 4.
    8 trillion, and mass production
    is scheduled to begin in the first half of 2024 after construction starts in the second half of this year.
    The new plant will have a capacity of 45 GWh (as of 2026).

    The two companies will build not only a battery factory, but also a module production line
