Trinseo and BASF jointly expand their styrene business based on recycled raw materials
On March 29, Trinseo and BASF announced a partnership to jointly expand their styrene production business
to promote the recycling of raw materials.
The enhanced collaboration between Trinsio and BASF aims to further develop and manage more environmentally friendly styrene materials
.
The collaboration is already underway and Centrobio has sourced the first synthetic styrene from BASF based on recycled raw materials for the production of styrene-butadiene rubber (S-SBR) and polystyrene (PS) products
.
Trinsio supplies its S-SBR to major tire manufacturers, and PS products to applications such as food packaging and electrical appliances, and the first customers have already processed and adopted the material
