Eastman announced

Investment in upgrading extrusion lines

Eastman Chemicals announced today that it will invest in upgrading its interlayer extrusion line in Springfield, Massachusetts, USA, to expand the capacity
of its interlayer business.
The upgrade project is expected to be completed
in the fourth quarter of 2021.

The investment is designed to strengthen Eastman's supply capacity to meet regional and global automotive and construction market demand
for Saflex polyvinyl butyral (PVB) interlayer products.
At the same time, the investment will also enhance the production capacity of specialty PVB interlayers for construction and automotive applications, including thickened interlayers and advanced three-layer interlayers such as Saflex acoustic interlayers.
