A new ethylene production method of the Petrochemical Research Institute won a national patent
Recently, a tubular cracking furnace steam cracking method to ethylene completed by the Petrochemical Research Institute has obtained the national invention patent authorization
.
The main use of carbon four in the refinery is to be used as civil liquefied gas, and the utilization value is low, if this part of carbon four products is used as the raw material of the cracking unit, the utilization value
of carbon four products can be greatly improved.
This not only expands the source of raw materials for the cracking plant, but also solves the problem of
excess carbon four products and difficulties in leaving the factory.
To this end, the researchers of the Petrochemical Institute carried out the co-cracking research of carbon four and light hydrocarbons, and selected the light hydrocarbons rich in paraffins and carbon four mixed as the raw materials for steam cracking of ethylene in the tubular cracking furnace, which effectively improved the ethylene yield of carbon four cracking while ensuring that the cracking performance of light hydrocarbons and ethylene yield remained unchanged, making carbon four as an ethylene raw material possible to meet the increasingly tight raw material demand
of the cracking unit.
This technology overcomes the shortcomings
that when carbon four raw materials are used as cracking raw materials alone, the ethylene yield is less than 18% and the cracking furnace tube is seriously coking, which affects the operation cycle of ethylene cracking furnace.
By mixing carbon four with alkane-rich light hydrocarbons for co-cracking, the ethylene yield converted by carbon four cracking can be increased to 25% to 26% due to the promotion of carbon four cracking by paraffins on carbon four cracking, so that the ethylene yield of carbon four participating in co-cracking can be increased by 7 to 8 percentage points compared with its cracking alone, which has significant economic benefits
.
