Chevron will build a carbon capture plant in California

According to recent news, Chevron has partnered with Microsoft, oilfield services company Schlumberger NV and privately held Clean Energy Systems to build a carbon capture plant
    in California.
The plant in the municipality of Mendota will convert agricultural biomass into electricity and store almost all of the carbon captured in the conversion of agricultural waste underground
    .
It is expected that the design and construction of the plant will start immediately, with a final investment decision
    made in 2022.
When completed, the plant will consume about 200,000 tons of agricultural waste and remove about 300,000 tons of carbon dioxide
    every year.
