Dr.
Martin Jung, Senior Vice President of BASF, Global Head of BASF's Global Business Unit for Surface Treatment, has recently been appointed Global Head of
BASF's Coatings Business Unit, including the Chemetall business of Albechael, which was acquired in December 2016, to succeed Joris Merckx
, who has led Chemetall since 2007.
The appointment took effect
on March 1.
Previously, Yong was responsible for the integration of Chemetall and BASF
.

Prior to his current role, Yong led BASF's Coatings division's Automotive OEM Solutions Europe business
.
Since joining BASF in 2000, Yong has held various positions in Germany and abroad, including Senior Vice President of Global Structural Materials R&D and Global Vice President of Amine Marketing Europe
