Evonik
has announced that Christian Kullmann (47) will succeed Klaus Engel (60) as the new chairman of Evonik, who will leave the company
after the annual shareholders' meeting on May 23.
Christian Kullmann has been with Evonik for more than 14 years

In 2016, he was appointed Vice Chairman with responsibility for strategy, mergers and acquisitions, legal, corporate communications, and investor relations

Harald Schwager (56) will join Evonik on September 1 as Vice Chairman of Evonik in charge of
chemicals and innovation.
Schwager is currently a member of the Board of Directors of BASF AG and will step down in this role
on May 1.

In addition, after friendly negotiations, Evonik's current Chief Operating Officer Ralph Sven Kaufmann (51) will leave the company on June 30, 2017, before the end of his planned term, and the position of Chief Operating Officer under the Board of Directors will be abolished
