LANXESS has successfully completed the acquisition of Solvay's phosphorus chemicals business, including its production site
in Charleston, South Carolina, USA.
All relevant antitrust authorities have approved the acquisition
.
The production site in Charleston includes six production halls with approximately 90 employees
.
The site produces phosphorus chloride and a variety of derivative products such as flame retardants and intermediates for agricultural chemicals
.
The business generates annual sales of around 65 million euros
.
With this acquisition, LANXESS Group is one step
closer to its strategy of focusing on the mid-sized market as well as the North American and Asian regions.
