At present, Kunlun Company has signed 8 sets of PTA device technology transfer contracts using the results of this project, which not only breaks through the barriers of foreign patented technology, ends the history of long-term introduction of PTA technology and equipment in China, but also realizes the vertical integration of the polyester industry chain and promotes the healthy and sustainable development
of the textile and chemical fiber industry.
As a result, the project won the second prize of the 2014 National Science and Technology Progress Award
.
According to the person in charge of the project, due to the import of PTA equipment and technology from abroad, China's investment per 10,000 tons of PTA production capacity has reached 40 million ~ 50 million yuan, of which the technology transfer fee alone is as high as more than 1 million US dollars per 10,000 tons
.
Faced with this technical bottleneck that restricts the development of China's chemical fiber industry, in March 2002, Kunlun Company (formerly China Textile Industry Design Institute) embarked on the journey
of developing large-scale PTA plant technology and complete sets of equipment with independent intellectual property rights.
Up to now, the results of the million-ton PTA project have been successfully applied to 8 sets of plants, with a total scale of more than 10 million tons, accounting for about 1/3
of the new production capacity in China in the same period.
These 8 sets of devices save billions of yuan of investment compared with the introduction of equipment, reduce comprehensive energy consumption by about 18%, and save about 50%
of water.
The comprehensive advantages of million-ton PTA process technology in investment, energy consumption and environmental protection have also won praise
from many parties.
China Chemical Fiber Industry Association believes that this project is of positive significance to promote the benign development of China's polyester chemical fiber industry; China Petroleum and Chemical Industry Federation identified that the overall technical level of the project has reached the leading domestic and international advanced level
.
The China Machinery Industry Federation highly recognizes the achievements of the project in the localization of equipment, and believes that it is of great
significance to promote the localization of major domestic equipment.
