Eastman recently showcased a variety of innovations in its tire additives business at the 15th China International Rubber Technology Exhibition, including Crystex insoluble sulfur, Santoflex antioxidant and Eastman Impera® performance resin
.
These tire additives can help tire manufacturers improve the performance of different tire sizes, including passenger car and heavy commercial truck tires, such as improving wet slip resistance, maintaining low rolling resistance, enhancing durability and improving handling
.
Crystex insoluble sulfur is a polymeric form of sulfur that is ideal for tire manufacturers worldwide as a vulcanizer, offering customers many process advantages and lower operating costs
.
From increasing production efficiency to reducing scrap residues, Crystex not only offers key process advantages, but also improves product performance
.
For example, it maximizes adhesion and reduces rejects due to frost spray and poor dispersion
.
Santoflex® Antioxidants (PPDs) prevent premature aging and degradation
of rubber due to oxidation, fatigue and overheating.
In addition, Eastman announced the release of Impera® performance resins
to the Chinese market.
They are a range of pure monomer resins (PMR), C5 and C9 resins that help optimize wet slip resistance and low rolling resistance of tires without sacrificing other critical properties and compounding processability
.
There's no need to change recipes or even redesign tires, just add a small amount of Impera to improve performance
.
