PPG introduces a moisture-proof seal repair kit for windshields for commercial aircraft

PPG Industries' Aerospace Glass Division unveiled its patch kit
for the exterior moisture-proof seal (also known as the hump seal) of the windshield of civil aircraft at the National Business Aviation Association's annual conference.

Due to long-term exposure to wind, rain and sunlight, the outer moisture seal of the windshield will gradually age over time, and the infiltration of moisture will shorten the service life
of the glass.
PPG has introduced 17 windshield moisture-proof seals for a wide range of civil aircraft models
.
The repair kit includes PR-1425CF chrome-free windshield sealant and PR-1861 adhesion promoter from PPG Aerospace, as well as a forming tool for moisture-resistant seals to ensure that the repaired seals are the same shape as the
original moisture-proof seals.
These patch kits are available
in PPG's Application Support Centers around the world.

"This new repair kit includes all the tools and materials to repair seals to factory specifications by repairing seals mounted on windshields to factory specifications, extending the life of the glass and bringing convenience to owners and operators of commercial aircraft
