The State of New York has recently added a new substance to its legislation banning the use of certain types of flame retardants in children's products, the tris(1,3-dichloro-2-propyl) phosphate (TDCPP), which will be banned from consumer products including baby products, toys, car seats, nursing pillows, crib mattresses, strollers and other products intended for children under three years of age, and will take effect
on December 1, 2015.
It is reported that the state introduced legislation in 2011 to prohibit the use of tris(2-chloroethyl) phosphate (TCEP)
in the above products.
