WACKER introduces a new VAE dispersion for hard-to-stick substrates
At the 15th International Adhesives & Sealants Exhibition held today, Wacker presented its VINNAPAS® EP 8010 product
.
This is a new dispersion specially developed for the paper and packaging industry for pasting different surface materials
.
Because it is not easily infiltrated by adhesives, adhesives cannot adhere firmly, and materials such as printed matter, painted paper, polyvinyl chloride plastic (PVC), polyester, and plastic films made of polystyrene are difficult to bond
.
VINNAPAS?Cord EP 8010 is a waterborne emulsion based on vinyl acetate-ethylene copolymer that uses polyvinyl alcohol as a stabilizer and can be used in a wide range of formulations
.
The new dispersion offers excellent adhesion, is suitable for a wide range of difficult-to-stick substrates, is easy to apply mechanically, and offers excellent heat resistance and curing speed
.
In addition, it re-emulsifies quickly and therefore facilitates cleaning
of the coater.
In addition to its excellent adhesion, VINNAPAS® EP 8010 is alkylphenol ethoxylate-free (APEO), eliminating the need for plasticizers
in the formulation process.
The new dispersion is particularly suitable for formulating high-performance adhesives for paper and packaging (e.
g.
folding packaging for high-end consumer goods, food packaging bags), as well as for applications
such as laminates for automotive interior parts.
