On October 22, BASF launched a new generation of Elastollan® TPU products for the production of melt-spun elastane
fibers at BASF's Innovation Hub for the textile industry.
The product can be used directly in the bare yarn weaving process without the use of polyethylene terephthalate (polyester) or polyamide (nylon) yarn coating; This improves the productivity
of textiles.
In addition, the new generation of elastane fibers produced with Elastollan improves heat resistance compared to ordinary melt-spun elastane, so that the final fabric can be processed
under hot-setting and dyeing conditions at higher temperatures.
Meltspun elastane fibers produced with Elastollan® TPU offer excellent comfort
.
In the textile industry, melt-spun elastane fibers are mainly used to produce clothing with high requirements for comfort and compatibility, such as sportswear, stockings and underwear
.
