BASF's Technology Innovation Hub global tour opens in Shanghai
BASF's "Creating a New Role in Chemistry" Science and Technology Innovation Gathering recently landed in Shanghai, bringing BASF's employees and other stakeholders, including customers, government representatives, partners, academia and media personnel, a comprehensive experience of BASF's cutting-edge technology, demonstrating BASF's innovative achievements
in pursuing a sustainable future.
At the Technology Innovation Hub, BASF presented innovations through 20 interactive booths, including innovative technologies
to improve energy efficiency, food production and nutrition, and improve quality of life.
All the innovations presented by BASF will help us develop solutions
in three main areas: resources, environment and climate, food and nutrition, and quality of life.
Today, skyrocketing energy demand is one of the world's greatest challenges, and the importance of clean water and other non-renewable resources is growing
.
BASF showcased energy-saving solutions
for electric vehicles, wind energy, solar energy, organic light-emitting diodes (OLEDs), building insulation and concrete technology.
In addition, the company shows how its water treatment products can be used to improve the sustainability
of wastewater and waste liquid treatment.
In addition to resource, environmental and climate issues, "growing populations need more food and nutrition" is a challenge
.
AgCelence, BASF's innovative product on display? AgCelence, which not only controls diseases and pests caused by fungi or pests, but also promotes photosynthesis and avoids premature ethylene formation, thereby helping to improve crop yield, quality, production efficiency and stress resistance
.
Despite serious challenges such as rapid population growth and globalization, all people still aspire to improve their quality of life
.
As one of the biggest highlights of the event in Shanghai, the forward-looking smart forvision of the forward-looking electric vehicle jointly developed by BASF and Daimler fully demonstrates BASF's contribution
to modern lifestyles.
The concept car incorporates no less than five technologies that are first used in the automotive industry: transparent organic solar cells, transparent OLEDs, all-plastic wheels, new lightweight body parts, and infrared reflective films and coatings that help reduce energy consumption, increase range and improve
practicality.
"As a leading global chemical company, innovation is the cornerstone of BASF's long-term success and the key to
solving future challenges around the world.
Dr.
Brudermüller, Vice Chairman of the Board of Executive Directors of BASF, said: "The launch of the Innovation Hub in Shanghai once again demonstrates our commitment
to investing in advanced technologies and innovations to achieve sustainable development in China, the company's third largest market in the world.
" Earlier
this year, BASF's "Creating a New Role in Chemistry" was officially launched near its global headquarters in Germany and has so far traveled to the
United States, Canada and Brazil.
After the Shanghai event, the Innovation Hub will be available in Mumbai, Brussels, Tokyo and Seoul
in 2013.
