Bayer MaterialScience recently held the 2014 China International Adhesives and Sealants Exhibition, focusing on its latest research and development of adhesive products and solutions
in three theme zones: automotive, footwear and construction.
Based on the Dispercoll U and Dispercoll C product families, it showcased the development of a new water-based adhesive solution
for vehicles that is easy to operate.
Laboratory tests have shown that the new water-based adhesive solution offers clear advantages in terms of good adhesion, long storage time, flexibly adjustable viscosity and a safer operating environment
.
At the same time, the solution can reduce the curing temperature of the adhesive from 90 degrees to 45 degrees, resulting in significant energy
savings.
In addition, the one-component formulation eliminates traditional processes such as mixing, spraying, and evaporation, thereby increasing production efficiency
.
Bayer MaterialScience also showcased new waterborne polyurethane adhesive solutions adapted to the Chinese footwear market, further promoting industrial upgrading
.
Compared to two-component waterborne polyurethane adhesives, the one-component polyurethane dispersion adhesive technology developed based on the Dispercoll product range can save nearly 10% in manual coating costs
.
With this new solution, shoe manufacturers can eliminate the need to mix water-based shoe adhesive on-site during bonding and solve the problem
of storing excess adhesive after use.
Another advantage is that it can be applied very easily to the substrate, thus reducing the amount of
shoe glue used.
At the same time, Bayer MaterialScience also presented its latest breakthrough
in medical polycarbonate at the China International Medical Device Design & Technology Exhibition 2014.
Bayer MaterialScience's medical-grade polycarbonate meets the specific requirements
for biocompatibility testing in the FDA's revised ISO10993-1 standard.
This material offers excellent heat and radiation resistance, withstands high-temperature steam and gamma ray sterilization, and is ideal for
the production of medical equipment.
Makrolon® Rx2440 polycarbonate material has optimized flow properties and rapid color
recovery after sterilization.
The material is suitable for the production of a wide range of medical devices, including intravenous blood transfusion components, respirators, surgical and renal health equipment
.
Also on display is the polycarbonate and ABS blend Bayblend.
Bayblend, polycarbonate and polyester blend Makroblend? Makroblend and polycarbonate products with outstanding heat resistance? Apec (Apec?).
