Honeywell UOP will provide technical support for the Lukoil refinery

Honeywell UOP said it had awarded it a contract to provide the Perm refinery in Russia with process technology
to convert low-value vacuum wax oil into high-value propylene and gasoline.

Honeywell said the first phase of the project will install new vacuum distillation and catalytic cracking units to increase propylene production at the refinery and boost gasoline production
.
In addition, a Merox plant will be installed to process LPG materials and reduce mercaptans in LPG and propylene recovery units to produce propylene with specific quality requirements for further use
.
UOP will provide technology licensing, design services, key equipment, catalysts and adsorbents
for the project.
Honeywell said that when the project is completed, the capacity of vacuum wax oil treatment will exceed 1.
8 million tons per year
