Clariant has launched its new Vita 100% bio-based surfactant and polyethylene glycol (PEG) to combat climate change
by helping to remove fossil carbon from the value chain.
Designed for natural formulations with a high renewable carbon index (RCI), the new Vita products enable manufacturers to maximize the bio-based carbon content
of consumer products such as detergents, shampoos and shower gels, paints, industrial lubricants and crop formulations.
Clariant uses 100% bioethanol derived from sugar cane or corn to manufacture ethylene
oxide for its innovative new surfactant and PEG.
Since only bio-based feedstocks are used, the carbon footprint of these components is significantly lower than that of fossil-based feedstocks
.
Vita surfactants save CO2 emissions: they can help reduce CO2 emissions by up to 85% compared to fossil analogues
