Trinseo expands TPE R&D center in Italy

According to recent foreign media news, Trinseo has completed the expansion
of its thermoplastic elastomer (TPE) research and development center in Mussollentai, Italy.
The new R&D facility marks another step forward for Trinseo in realizing its broader TPE growth strategy, enabling it to further develop its portfolio of custom-engineered TPEs and thermoplastic polyurethanes (TPU), as well as its leading bioplastics portfolio
.
The dedicated R&D center, led by Marco Meneghetti, Global Head of TPE T&I, supports Trinseo's two soft plastics production sites
, Mussolentai and Hsinchu.
The facility is located in the premises of Trinseo's main TPE production plant and construction
began in February 2020.
Natalia Scherbakoff, Global Director of Technology and Innovation, said: "Heading into 2021, we have announced yet another announcement
about the growth of investment in Trinseo.
We brought 2020 to a successful end with the start of a pilot plant for TPE in Hsinchu and the acquisition of PMMA business
from Arkema.
All of these steps are driving Trinseo towards becoming a supplier of specialty compounds and material solutions
as set out in the company's transformation strategy.
