Pembina and Kuwait Petrochemical Plan to Advance Alberta Project
Pembina Pipeline said today that it will move forward with Kuwait Petrochemical Industries (PIC) to invest billions of dollars in petrochemical projects
in Alberta, Canada.
The two companies will build a new 550,000-tonne integrated propane dehydrogenation (PDH) unit and a polypropylene (PP) upgrade facility
in Alberta through a joint venture in Kuwait, Canada.
The preliminary estimated cost of the project is $4.
5 billion, including interest expense
during the construction period.
Of this amount, $4 billion was spent on the construction of production plants and another $500 million for ancillary facilities
.
The project is expected to enter production
in mid-2023.
