    has passed several bans
    on the use of bisphenol A (BPA) in certain childcare products.

    Under the Toxin-Free Toddlers Act, BPA
    is prohibited in food and beverage containers for children under 3 years of age.
    Effective dates for manufacturers and retailers are January 1, 2013 and January 1, 2014

    Food and Drug Administration has banned the use of BPA-based polycarbonate in baby bottles and spill-proof cups, and the Illinois BPA ban has expanded it to include dishes and dishes

    Japan and Vietnam
    recently signed a memorandum of understanding
    on promoting cooperation in chemical risk management between the two countries.
    Accordingly, the two countries will carry out cooperation on chemical risk management to further enhance the function of

    At the same time, Japan will help Viet Nam to establish an effective chemicals management mechanism
    .

    According to the MoU, the two countries will share information, knowledge, experience, policies, etc.
    on laws, regulations and technologies related to chemicals management, and cooperate in the development
    of human resources in this field.
    By 2015, Japan will assist Vietnam in establishing a chemicals management system based on risk assessment and management, and establishing and validating databases and chemical inventories required for the implementation of the Chemicals Management Act

    In addition, through cooperation with Japan, Vietnam will strengthen risk assessment and management capacity of chemicals, and conduct training on the safe management of hazardous chemicals
