Wacker will present two new silicones
for wound care at the China International Medical Device Design & Technology Exhibition 2015 on September 22~24.
Among them, SILPURAN?2217 silicone gel is suitable for the production of wound dressings that are not irritating to the skin, and SILPURAN?Silicon film can be used as wound dressings and breathable films
for rehabilitation tapes.
Also on display are the SILPURAN?6610 liquid silicone rubber series, specially developed to solve the problem of self-healing of the valve groove of medical silicone rubber valves during radiation disinfection, and SILPURAN?6700 self-adhesive silicone rubber, which produces soft and hard rubber
two-color parts for medical applications.
SILPURAN?2117 has better adhesion properties and can meet the high skin compatibility requirements
of allergic skin patients.
Because silicones are breathable, wound dressings using silicone gel are correspondingly breathable, not only protecting the wound surface from bacterial invasion, but also promoting rapid wound healing
.
SILPURAN?2117 is very soft, the user will not feel pain when changing the wound dressing, will not damage the wound and surrounding skin, and is the material of choice for wound dressings in direct contact with the skin
due to its excellent adhesion properties.
SILPURAN?Silpuran?Films can be produced into extremely homogeneous silicone films
according to preset thicknesses.
Typical properties of silicones include chemical stability, high temperature and low temperature flexibility, elasticity and tear resistance
.
It can also condense water on the surface of the film into water droplets and disperse, allowing gases such as water vapor and oxygen to diffuse
through the film.
These properties enable SILPURAN® Film to be used in a wide range of applications, such as in the production of breathable wound tapes that aid in the rehabilitation process, or as a breathable film
in medical devices such as artificial heart-lung machines.
