Solvay has announced a new licensing agreement that allows RTP to manufacture and sell Solvay Radel?Cord R-7000 series polyphenylsulfone (PPSU) resins
for the global commercial aircraft industry.
The agreement will significantly expand Solvay's global availability of the Performance Polymers family, further shorten product lead times and enrich the ordering options for Radel?Soft's R-7000 PPSU resin, with customizable colors
regardless of the size of the order.
The resins in the Radel?R-7000 PPSU family are formulated specifically for aircraft cabin interior applications such as seats, customer service components, luggage compartments and ventilation grilles
.
In addition to excellent aesthetics, excellent impact strength and chemical resistance, it also meets the Federal Aviation Administration's stringent regulations
for flammability, heat release, smoke and toxic gas emissions.
Solvay will continue to manufacture, sell and distribute its Radel?R-7000 PPSU line of polymers
.
The new license agreement gives RTP access to Solvay's Radel?R-7000 PPSU polymer formulation and production technology, and RTP can use Solvay's established Radel?cream brand and brand name for production and sale
.
In addition, the agreement will provide customers with greater flexibility to order custom color products in smaller quantities to match custom color cards
from aircraft OEM manufacturers or individual airlines.
