Issue 33/2013 - Innovative solutions for DSM thermoplastic materials are coming soon

DSM recently announced that the company will showcase its innovative solutions for comprehensive thermoplastic materials at the 2013 China International Electrical and Electrical Equipment Expo held in Shanghai on August 28~30:
◆ Molded Case Circuit Breaker (MCCB): DSM's Stanyl Chain, Akulon, Statanyl ForTiiTM and a new generation of halogen-free flame retardant Stanyl CR can be widely used in the shell of molded case circuit breakers, Trip units, internal components and interrupter components
.
Products using this solution will have longer electrical life, better aesthetics, and thinner wall thicknesses
than parts produced with traditional thermosets.

◆Industrial Control Electrical Appliances (ICG): Akulon, Arnite, Stanyl and Stanyl ForTiiTM four high-performance materials can provide customers with cost-effective solutions
according to their special properties.
Applications include shells, coil frames, front covers and internal components
of industrial control electrical products such as contactors, motor starters, thermal relays, etc.

◆ Micro circuit breaker (MCB): At present, DSM's mature and diverse solutions have covered 100% of the plastic parts applications
of micro circuit breakers.
Akulon, Stanyl, Arnite, Stanyl ForTiiTM has excellent performance
in housings, operating mechanisms, coil frames and arc extinguishing systems.

Among them, the excellent fluidity of two thermoplastic materials, Stanyl and Stanyl CR, in the process of component processing and molding, can well meet the miniaturization trend of molded case circuit breakers.
Stanyl?ForTiiTM LDS material can avoid the conflict between route wiring and structural design often encountered in traditional design, realize wiring liberalization, and perfect balance of mechanical properties and processability, providing opportunities for innovative design of low-voltage electrical appliances.
