BASF has launched Hydropalat?WE 3111,
an alkylphenol polyoxyethylene ether (APEO)-free pigment wetting agent for waterborne coatings.
The product has excellent color rendering and can be used
as a dispersant in base paints.
In addition to excellent color development and stability, Hydropalat® WE 3111 also exceeds the performance
of commonly used alkylphenol ethoxide surfactants with medium to high HLB (12-15) in terms of generally used to improve compatibility between base coat and toning paste.
It improves the color development ability of toning pastes, outperforming mainstream alkylphenol ethoxylates in many different types of coating formulations, while maintaining the freeze-thaw stability
of coatings.
In addition, the low odor of Hydropalat® WE 3111, combined with its less than 1% exerable organic compound content measured according to EPA Method 24, helps maintain good indoor air quality, making it ideal for
environmentally conscious paint manufacturers.
