LANXESS' innovative tanning preparation section solution is about to be unveiled
Lanxess recently announced that it will present its products, processes and systems for efficient leather production at ACLE in Shanghai on September 4~6, with a focus on Peltec solutions
for tanning preparation.
As part of the relaunch of the tanning preparation section series, LANXESS has optimized products for four application areas based on standardized measured product characteristics: water immersion, hair removal/maceration, ash removal and softening
.
Among them, the water-immersion product ensures rapid and sufficient return of the hide, while the ash maceration treatment is mainly hair removal and non-collagen
removal.
LANXESS' newly developed products significantly improve process design, especially in terms of
environmental protection.
In the ash removal phase, LANXESS focuses on developing products
with strong buffering capacity and a high solubility index of lime.
Finally, during the softening process, bioengineered pure enzymes with precisely defined activity ranges and performance characteristics can precisely break down proteins and fats
.
Thanks to reliable softening, tanneries can further improve the quality of
the leather.
LANXESS will also be showcasing the innovative X-Zyme process
at the exhibition.
The process was developed
exclusively by LANXESS in cooperation with Novozymes.
In water and ash maceration, the use of enzymes produced by only two microorganisms can significantly improve the quality of the leather surface, reduce the amount of waste and significantly improve the efficiency of
the entire process.
For example, with Peltec X-Zyme S water immersion enzyme, it only takes 4~6 hours to obtain excellent results, even if the immersion time is prolonged, there will be no loss of collagen
.
Another Peltec X-Zyme U enzyme combines the advantages of conventional hair removal methods with significantly lower wastewater treatment costs
by reducing the amount of chemicals used.
