Asahi Kasei expands nylon 66 filament production capacity AsahiKASEI said it will expand its production capacity
for Leona nylon 66 filament in Nobeoka, Miyazaki Prefecture, Japan.
In line with the 2018 Mid-Term Management Initiative, Asahi Kasei identified the automotive market as a focus
for expansion in the materials sector, including the textile and fiber industries.
With the increase in automobile production in Asia, the installation rate of airbags has also increased, resulting in a significant increase
in the use of Leona nylon 66 filaments in airbag applications.
This capacity expansion will enable Asahi Kasei to meet growing demand
.
Ryujiro Yoshino, General Manager of Leona's Nylon 66 Filament Division, said, "We will see stronger market demand
as vehicle production capacity increases, safety regulations become stricter and more airbags are needed.
We will strengthen our supply mix and consider expanding our production capacity.
