Dow unveiled innovative water treatment technology at the 2014 International Water Show
At Water Shanghai 2014, Dow Water Treatment and Process Solutions (DW&PS), a division of Dow Chemical (Dow), showcased its innovative water treatment technologies and solutions
.
Dow exhibited for the first time at this year's water show its new 500GPD high-flow household reverse osmosis membrane module
for the domestic water market.
The FILMTECTM series of components, Dow's latest household reverse osmosis membrane technology, provide drinking water
that tastes better, tastes better and has fewer impurities.
Robust and durable, Dow's latest membrane chemistries are designed to optimize
performance by balancing flow and salt rejection.
Because of its small size and large flow rate, it can achieve rapid continuous water discharge without the use of intermediate water
tanks.
In addition, new membrane chemistries can help achieve higher system recoveries, helping to improve water efficiency and therefore being more environmentally friendly
.
In addition, Dow showcased a new Dow SEAMAXXTM desalination reverse osmosis membrane
for seawater desalination.
The improved membrane chemistry of SEAMAXXTM elements minimizes pressure and energy consumption while providing long-term reliable yield water quality
for single-stage, two-stage reverse osmosis and multi-stage desalination systems.
Compared to ordinary low-energy components, SEAMAXXTM membrane modules can achieve energy savings of up to 10%, while membrane fouling is mitigated
at high operating throughput.
SEAMAXXTM features an optimized membrane element design, and its 440 square feet of effective membrane surface and interlocking technology enable low differential pressure, low cleaning frequency and high cleaning efficiency to maximize
the productivity of desalination systems.
SEAMAXXTM has successfully achieved desalination of 99.
7% water purity
