MOL opens a new polyol R&D center in Százhalombatta
According to foreign media recently, MOL has opened a new polyol research and development center in Százhalombatta, Hungary, aiming to develop polyol products
that meet customer needs.
The MOL Group's 2030 strategy sets a goal
of increasing the contribution of the petrochemical business to the Group's overall performance.
For this purpose, EUR 1.
2 billion has
been invested in the polyol plant in Tiszaújváros.
To strengthen this investment and ensure that the plant meets the market demand it serves, MOL has established an R&D center
at the Danube Refinery.
The investment center, which costs 10 million euros and includes up to 12 engineers and 7 technicians as well as the world's most advanced experimental reactor system, will be supplied and commissioned by ThyssenKrupp, with 90% of the equipment procured
from Hungarian suppliers.
In addition, MOL and thyssenkrupp have signed a joint research and development agreement to facilitate the entry of both companies into the polyol market
.
By July 2022, the new plant will develop at least 10 polyol grades
.
