On November 24, Clariant announced a major global initiative to provide free of charge its EnviCat N2O-S catalyst, based on decades of catalyst research experience, to 10 nitric acid producers without nitrous oxide (N2O) waste gas treatment measures to reduce the impact
of_N2Oon climate change.

It is understood that more than half of the about 500 nitric acid plants operating around the world do not have_N2Oemission reduction measures, and most of them are located in areas without
applicable emission control regulations.
EnviCat N2O-S catalysts have been proven to remove 95%
of the by-product_N2O.
Clariant said it hopes to help avoid greenhouse gas emissions
equivalent to millions of tons of_CO2 each year.
