According to foreign media reports, LG Chem has successfully developed a new type of biodegradable material with mechanical properties comparable
to synthetic resins.
Compared to existing biodegradable materials, the flexibility (elongation) and transparency of this new material, developed by LG Chem through its patented technology and production process, has been significantly improved
.
The new biodegradable materials developed by LG Chem are monogeneous and homogeneous, so that the quality and application-specific performance
required by customers can be achieved.
In particular, flexibility, which is a core factor, has been improved by more than 20 times compared to existing biodegradable products, so transparency can be maintained even after processing, and it is expected to have a ripple effect
in the eco-friendly packaging industry, which usually uses biodegradable materials.
The material uses a single biodegradable material with a biological content of 100% corn-based glucose and crude glycerol, which can exhibit mechanical properties and transparency
comparable to synthetic resins such as PP.
