BASF has launched a new rheology modifier, Rheovis^®HS 1181, which is mainly used to help improve high-PVC coatings
.

The product does not contain alkylphenol ethoxylates and can completely replace ASE thickeners in high PVC coatings and can replace hydroxyethylcellulose (HEC) to some extent, thereby reducing formulation costs
.
It also offers excellent paint stability, improved can opening appearance, significantly reduced paint spatter, and is ideal for thickeners in architectural coatings, as well as for industrial and wood coatings
