Saudi Aramco and SABIC plan to build a $20 billion petrochemical project Recently, Saudi Arabia's National Oil Company (Saudi Aramco) and Saudi Basic Industries Corporation (SABIC) signed a memorandum of understanding to jointly complete a $20 billion petrochemical project
to convert crude oil into chemicals.
The project will produce polyethylene, polypropylene, xylene, benzene and other chemical products from crude oil, with a processing capacity of 400,000 barrels per day, and can produce 9 million tons of chemical products and base oils
per year.
