PPG reached an agreement with Liandong Chemical

Recently, PPG announced a strategic agreement
with Liandong Chemical.
Liandong Chemical will act as a sales agent to sell select PPG silica products
to tire manufacturers in the Asia-Pacific region.

Select grades covered by this agreement include PPG Hi-SIL low/high surface area silica and PPG Agilon high-performance modified silica
.
These products can support tire manufacturers' sustainability efforts, including reducing the rolling resistance of tread compounds and improving their wear resistance; Improve rubber compounding efficiency and reduce volatile organic compound (VOCs) emissions from the manufacturing process; Increase the amount of natural rubber used in tires to improve abrasion and tear resistance and support the use of
bio-based materials.

An important part of PPG's sustainable portfolio, PPG Agilon high-performance silica products are based on a chemically modified precipitated silica platform designed to help customers expand the tire industry's magic triangle – improving fuel efficiency, traction and wear resistance

In addition to reducing rolling resistance to improve vehicle fuel economy and reducing VOCs emissions from tire blending by more than 99 percent, PPG Agilon silica products increase traction to improve handling, especially in wet, snowy or icy conditions
