WACKER lays the foundation for a new production line in South Korea, and WACKER has expanded its existing line for
dispersions and dispersible polymer powders in Korea.
These include a new spray drying plant with an annual capacity of 80,000 tons of dispersible polymer powder and a VAE-based emulsion reactor, which will be used as a raw material for the spray drying plant to produce dispersible polymer powder
.
The integrated production line will cover the entire production chain from VAE dispersions to dispersible polymer powders, making it one of
the largest lines of its kind in the world.
The expansion is worth around EUR 60 million and is expected to start production
in the first quarter of 2019.
With this expansion, WACKER is responding to the growing demand for WACKER's high-quality binders, especially in the growing construction industry in South Korea and Southeast Asia, while shortening delivery times
and times.
"Our existing production site in Ulsan offers ideal conditions for expansion," said Dr.
Hektar, Managing Director for WACKER Asia, at the groundbreaking ceremony.
