On November 8, Solvay completed the acquisition of European Carbon Fiber GmbH ("ECF"), a German producer
of premium "precursors" of large tow (50K) polyacrylonitrile (PAN) carbon fiber.

"The strategic acquisition of ECF allows Solvay to develop a portfolio of large tow carbon fibers to complement the existing portfolio
of asphalt-based and PAN aerospace-grade carbon fibers.
The comprehensive product portfolio will make Solvay a key supplier
in the aerospace, automotive and industrial markets in the future.
With this acquisition, Solvay will be able to leverage its strengths in polymers and materials science to drive breakthrough innovations in large tow carbon fiber," said
