Minnesota expands BPA restrictions
Recently, the State of Minnesota signed a decree expanding the scope of BPA restrictions as follows: As of August 1, 2014, manufacturers or wholesalers may not knowingly sell or provide infant formula, infant food and toddler food in containers intentionally fortified with BPA in Minnesota; Effective August 1, 2015, retailers may not knowingly sell or make available infant formula, baby food, and toddler food
in containers intentionally fortified with BPA in Minnesota.
"Baby food" means a solid food that can be prepared into a soft paste or easily chewable for children aged two years and younger and is commercially available
.
"Infant formula" means a special food in powder or liquid form that meets the general nutritional needs of infants as a substitute for human milk and is intended primarily for children aged three years and
younger.
For the purposes of this decree, bottled children's food is excluded
