On October 25, Solvay announced a partnership with building materials manufacturer Three Trees to develop a photovoltaic building integration (BIPV) thermoplastic polyolefin roofing membrane that meets the newly released 25-year anti-aging requirements
.
Tests have shown that Solvay's products provide excellent stability
.
The goal of the collaboration between the two companies is to drive the commercialization and scale
of this solution.
The cooperation agreement will cover product testing, validation, marketing, new project development and production
.
Solvay's CYASORB CYNERGY SOLUTIONS®B Series stabilizers will be integrated with three trees' TPO roofing membranes to provide the final product with higher performance than ASTM D6878 (Standard Specification for Thermoplastic Polyolefin-based Membrane Roofing) and ASTM D573 (Standard Test Method for Rubber).
In addition, the stabilizer is a new product specifically designed for China-specific standards that are in the evaluation phase – such as the Technical Regulations for Roofing of Photovoltaic Modules and the Technical Specifications for
Roofing Engineering.
